Cookie Policy

Last updated June 29, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Looni Financial Inc. ("Looni," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit loonifinancial.com or use our app. It is meant to be read alongside our Privacy Policy, and it follows Canadian privacy and consent expectations under PIPEDA and CASL.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit it. Cookies let the site remember things about your visit — like keeping you signed in or remembering a setting you chose. We also use similar technologies, such as local storage and small tracking pixels, and we refer to all of them together as "cookies" in this policy.

Cookies can be "session" cookies, which disappear when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.

2. How Looni uses cookies

We use cookies to make Looni work, to keep your account secure, to remember your preferences, and to understand how the product is used so we can improve it. In plain terms, cookies help us sign you in safely, keep your session running, and learn which features are useful.

To be clear about what we do not do:

3. Types of cookies we use

Here are the categories of cookies Looni relies on and why we use each one.

CategoryPurposeExample
Strictly necessary Required for the site and app to function — sign-in, keeping your session active, and security (such as detecting fraud or abuse). These cannot be switched off without breaking core features. Supabase authentication session cookie that keeps you securely signed in.
Functional / preference Remembers choices you make so you do not have to set them again, giving you a smoother experience. A cookie that stores your interface settings or remembers that you have dismissed a notice.
Analytics Helps us understand how people use Looni — which pages and features are used and where things break — so we can improve the product. This data is aggregated and not used to advertise to you. A privacy-friendly analytics cookie that counts page views and feature usage in aggregate.

4. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by trusted service providers that help us run Looni, rather than by us directly. We keep these to a limited set, and we choose providers that support our privacy-first approach.

These providers are bound by their own privacy obligations and may only use the data to provide their service to us. They are not permitted to use it to advertise to you.

5. Managing cookies

You are in control of cookies. You can manage or delete them in a few ways:

Please note: if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of Looni may stop working — in particular, you may not be able to sign in or stay signed in.

6. Consent

For strictly necessary cookies, we rely on them being essential to deliver a service you asked for, so they are set when you use Looni. For functional and analytics cookies, we ask for your consent — for example, through a cookie banner — before we set them, in line with Canadian consent expectations.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by adjusting your choices in the consent banner or your browser settings. Withdrawing consent will not affect cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to function.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in the law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by other means.

8. Contact

If you have questions about this Cookie Policy or how we use cookies, please contact us at privacy@loonifinancial.com.
